Herose 06388 Series Cryogenic Safety Valve
AirGas
The HEROSE Type 06388 is a cryogenic safety valve designed for pressure relief on cryogenic liquefied gas cylinders, LNG systems, and low-temperature pressure vessels. The angle-type body combines a stainless steel inlet (1.4301/304) with a bronze outlet (CC491K), giving the valve the low-temperature performance of stainless at the process interface and the corrosion resistance of bronze on the discharge side.
The valve is rated for PN 50 service with set pressures from 2 to 50 bar and a full operating temperature range from -196°C (LNG temperature, 77K) up to +185°C. It is supplied cleaned and degreased for oxygen service as standard, and is available in multiple inlet thread configurations including BSPP, BSPT, and NPT to suit different market requirements.
Two seal materials are used depending on size: carbon-filled PTFE (25%) on smaller orifice versions and PCTFE on the 23 mm full-lift versions. The full-lift design on larger sizes provides higher discharge capacity for the same orifice compared to a standard safety valve. Type-tested to TÜV-SV.780 S/G, with additional approvals including ASME UV, Association of American Railroads (AAR), Korea Gas Safety Corporation, VdTÜV, TSSA, CRN and CE.
